Running has been a big part of our story—both individually and together. We actually met at the Runners Roost store in Denver, which makes this shared passion even more special. We’ve each spent years chasing personal goals, from local races to the national stage. Garret qualified for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in both 2020 and 2024, with a personal best of 2:16, while Amy has raced competitively and supported every mile along the way.

In 2023, we set a Guinness World Record for the fastest combined half marathon time by a married couple, something we trained for side by side. Today, running continues to be a shared passion that keeps us grounded, goal-oriented, and always pushing forward—whether it’s on the roads, trails, or just a quiet early-morning run with our dog Donna.

We seek to remain a committed member of the Denver running community in addition to our work in real estate. For this reason, we named our business "Running RE". This page is here to provide updates on Denver running events and clubs that may be a good fit for you. We LOVE to talk running, so please reach out with any questions.

Clubs:

Good Boys Denver - Garret is a founder of the club and serves a leadership role. They have athletes that compete in professional fields at major marathons and those who are just running to stay healthy. The club has a team run every Monday from South High School at 5:30pm and is free for it's members. The club is supported by New Balance and is a great opportunity to further your running, especially if you are an elite 10k-marathoner in Denver. https://goodboysrunning.com/

Revolution Running - Revolution Running is a Colorado-based training group that brings runners of all levels together. This club has pace groups ranging from 7 to 11 minute miles and offers structured workouts, expert coaching, and a strong sense of community. Amy has been a dedicated coach with the program for several years, helping athletes set goals, stay motivated, and reach new milestones. Her passion for running and supportive coaching style make her a trusted leader in the local running scene. http://www.revolution-running.com

Citius - Citius run club is becoming a hub of the Denver running community. They host a Saturday coffee run that often has over 100 people attend. We sometimes attend these Saturday runs since we are friends with many members of the club. If you're looking for a social vibe, they are a great place to start. https://www.citiusrc.run/home

Cooldown - If you're looking for FUN, Cooldown is the place to go. They are the most relaxed of the groups we've mentioned and have plenty of pace groups for runners and walkers alike. They label themselves the "run club for everyone" and we can attest. Generally they gather for drinks afterwards too. Our single friends love it! https://cooldownrunning.com/

5280 Distance Project - 5280 is a highly competitive running team based in Lakewood. They generally keep their team size under 20 and are a great fit for those athletes based in Lakewood/Golden that are looking to compete at the national level. https://www.instagram.com/5280distanceproject/

Events:

The Colfax Marathon in May is one of the city’s signature running events, offering everything from a 5K to a full marathon. We love the race, but the after party at City Park is even more fun and highlights how amazing the Denver running community is.

The Bolder Boulder 10K is a Memorial Day tradition and one of the most iconic road races in the country, Each year, almost 50,000 runners race. In 2024, Garret finished 9th!

Boulderthon has quickly become a standout fall event. With half and full marathon options and a 5k through the foothills and downtown Boulder, it’s perfect for both first-timers and those seeking competition.

Denver Athletics Track Series is a summer tradition at Englewood High School. They have individual and relay events across three different track meets in June, July, and August.

Denver Athletics Park Series. New in 2024, Denver Athletics started one lap all-out races at the three major Denver parks. The Wash Park Circuit, Cheesman Park Circuit, and City Park Circuit are rising in popularity for competitive and leisure athletes alike.
